"Loved By All Who Knew Him, A Friend To All He Knew."

This site is dedicated to our Dear Son Austin who departed this world too early due to a tragic accident. We know that his death has affected so many people and we appreciate the love and concern that all of you have expressed to Austin's loved ones. We miss him so much yet we know and trust that he is in our Heavenly Father's care and is happy. Austin's spirit lives, and we know we will be with him again because of our Savior's love and sacrifice. We pray that this tribute will keep his memory alive and bring peace to each one of you.  We would love to hear of any memories you have of Austin.  You can post them on the website or you can email us a private message at

Latest Memories
Mom

I took this photo of Austin while in Mexico, on December 28, 2003.  I have often wondered what he was thinking as he walked along the beach.

"One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.  Scenes from my life flashed across the sky.  In each, I noticed footprints in the sand.  Sometimes, there were two sets of footprints; other times there was only one.

During the lowest times of my life I could see only one set of footprints, so I said, “Lord, you promised me, that you would walk with me always.  Why, when I have needed you most, would you leave me?”

The Lord replied, “My precious child, I love you and would never leave you.  The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

  LIVE WELL

          LAUGH OFTEN

               LOVE MUCH

“SUCCESS”

Bessie Anderson Stanley

He has achieved success
who has lived well,
laughed often, and loved much;
who has enjoyed the trust of pure women,
the respect of intelligent men
and the love of little children;
who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
who has left the world better than he found it
whether by an improved poppy,
a perfect poem, or a rescued soul;
who has never lacked appreciation of Earth's beauty
or failed to express it;
who has always looked for the best in others
and given them the best he had;
whose life was an inspiration;
whose memory a benediction.

Gone From My Sight

By Henry Van Dyke

I am standing upon the seashore.  A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean.

She is an object of beauty and strength.

I stand and watch her until; at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, “There she is gone.”

Gone where?

Gone from my sight.  That is all.  She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side.  And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her.

And, just at the moment when someone says, “There, she is gone,” there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, “Here she comes!”

And that is dying…

Death

Death is nothing at all

 I have only slipped away into the next room

I am I and you are you

Whatever we meant to each other

That we are still

Call me by my old familiar name

Speak to me in the easy way you always used

Put no difference in your tone

Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes

we enjoyed together

Play, smile, think of me; pray for me

Let my name be the household word it always was

Let it be spoken without effect

Without the ghost of a shadow on it

Life means all that it ever meant

It is the same as it ever was

There is absolute unbroken continuity

Why should I be out of mind just because

I am out of sight

I am waiting for you very near

Just around the corner

My Wish

If we could have a lifetime wish

A dream that would come true,

We’d pray to God

With all our hearts

For yesterday and you.

A thousand words

Can’t bring you back

We know because we’ve tried

Neither will a thousand tears,

We know because we’ve cried.

You left behind our broken hearts

And happy memories too

But we never wanted memories,

We only wanted you.

As children of God we realize

That better times are near

Bright days and blue skies

With orange blossoms in the air.

Until that day, that wonderful day

We’ll remember the Lord’s great plan

That enables us to see your face

And again to hold your hand.

We will be with you soon, Austin!
